Well I finally saw Twilight the movie and I can see the addiction.

If I were a teen girl I would be hooked.

As an adult, it was pleasant and I will likely see New Moon but I'm not interested in seeing it twice lol.

I origionally planned to note my box of cigars that I brought back from Haiti. The note was going to be about how I have given all but 2 away and still have not smoked one with a friend or "friend" as per the origional plan.

As I sat down to write just that the Today Show started a bit about a little girl with cancer and I was immediatly reminded of just How Much I have to Be Thankful For and just how little I have to complain about - expecially since the few complaints I have tend to be a variation on the same thing so ie. only really one complaint in life.

- Today at work James had in his hand a pen that was not working.
- I took the pen and tossed it across the small room and into the trash can.
- James immediatly quiped with friendly teasing pride: "see the way you got that right into the can; you Must be a Green Belt!"

I earned my Doce Pares Eskrima (stick fighting) GREEN Belt last night!!!! I am still so excited. I Was excited that even though I went all the way home around 10pm I realized that I was too wired to sleep to I met a few friends at a local place. It was so much fun - details to come when I am not so dang tired off my feet!

um . . .

So I participated in the brazilian jiu-jitsu class today and the fact is, I'm just too big.
Some of the moves I simply cannot configure my body into because I just have too much body!
It was fun to try though, maybe I will try again minus a few pounds from now :).

The Home Going service was really nice and all in all I enjoyed the sisters so much that my cousin and I plan to do a visit to see them for my birthday - that should be fun. I found this obituary for her so I think I will leave this post with it:

She was a former resident of Charleston, where she graduated from Garnet High School.

She is survived by her husband, Henry of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughters, Carol Williams and Janet Freeze of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brother, Robert Eldridge of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Helen Eldridge of Pittsburgh, Pa., Frances Eldridge of New York City, Carrie Eldridge, Elizabeth McCray and Lucille White, all of Charleston.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 21, at Monumental Baptist Church, 2240 Wylie Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa., 15219.

West Funeral Home, Pittsburgh, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.

In addition to the above grandma was an active part of her church helping as an usher and many other activities, she was a retired crossing guard of 30 years (some of whom proceeded the family into the service and processed us out) and many individuals voiced how she will be missed.

This evening I went to see Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's 'INGLORIOUS BASTERDS'.

Um, I don't want to see it again.
The critics give it a B+ and I guess a B/B+ is about right.
Violence mixed with a bit of hokey based on a serious topic that has been completely fictionalized ... it was ok but a bit much for me.

Friday I picked up and started wearing my new no rim clear as a bell glasses.

I chose not to say a word about them.

Many times we look at the same ppl multiple times a day, several day's a week and unless they do something DRASTIC we fail to Really Look at them. We fail to experience them, their subtitles, the every day, natural beauty of life and the individuals that we encounter.

So I wondered, who, if anyone would notice the change from my black rimmed glasses to the new ones that open my face up a lot more.

My mom noticed immediately *yea mom* lol.

No one else has noticed for the past 4 days.
Not my co-workers that I saw all day Friday, Saturday and today.
Not my dad who loves me dearly.
Not T who I hung out with Saturday *granted he was a little buzzed*
Not the guys at the gym whom I spar with or the girls that I talk to in the locker room.

However, someone did notice who I would have least expected lol and in fact he noticed from about 12 feet away as he was teaching a class.

I decided to hang out and watch the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class. There is still a lot that I am not able to do but as I was watching, part way thru the class JR say's 'hey, you just watching tonight?' I nodded in the affirmative then he said "and you got new glasses? Nice!" LOL - Unbeliviable lol - you never know who is really paying attention and who is not - too funny.

I am in the process of writing about romance and race, just a bit of personal story and as my brain in turning over my own stuff I came upon this documentary on HBO today - amazing.

The prom had to be racially integrated.

His offer was ignored.

In 2008, Freeman offered again.

This time the school board accepted, and history was made.

Charleston High School had its first-ever integrated prom—in 2008!

Until then, blacks and whites had had separate proms even though their classrooms have been integrated for decades.

Canadian filmmaker Paul Saltzman follows students, teachers, and parents in the lead-up to the big day. Freeman addresses the student body. Girls shop for dresses and get their hair done. Boys rent tuxedoes and buy corsages. These seemingly inconsequential rites of passage suddenly become profound as the weight of history falls on teenage shoulders.

My co-worker and parent told me one last jewel of a story about her 3yr old daughter who was in my class. At school we sing this song that most of us learn in Bible school:
"Jesus love the little children - all the children of the world - Red and Yellow Black and White they are precious in His sight - Jesus loves the little children of the world!" and then the kids would sing at the top of their lungs: "Hit It RED AND YELLOW BLACK AND WHITE (3x's) I'm so glad that Jesus loves them ALLLLLL!!!"

So she took her daughter to the wave pool a few weeks ago and it was full of people.
As her daughter is getting into the pool she looks around and say's "LOOK MOM! THEY ARE ALLLL HERE (pointing at each person singing at the top of her lungs) "RED AND YELLOW BLACK AND WHITE!"

(did not help that mom is white and the little girl is biracial and very very light LOL too funny!

So much fun this weekend :).
I met Master Zach and Master Cacoy.
We did lots of escrimaCacoy style and then lots of sticks and hand to hand combat/defense Zach style today.

One of the things I am loving about this is that even though Joles work outs makes me think I want to die I am never sore afterwards and that is awesome!

God is opening other doors on the horizon and I will have another work out/career update soon :) YEAA God! :)

Last year so much happened and went awry but I am here to testify that God IS:

JEHOVAH-JIREH - Genesis 22:13-14 Meaning "The Lord will provide"
For He has provided for me all of my life and even more so over the last years with favor, finances, friends both near and far, comfort, physical And emotional protection and health!

JEHOVAH-ROHI - Psalm 23:1 Meaning "The Lord my shepherd"
For He has guided me, given me wisdom and direction in theses times of uncertainty!

JEHOVAH-RAPHA - Exodus 15:26 Meaning "The Lord our healer"
For over the last year He has healed and raised up both my parents from sudden and extreme illness as well as spared the life of my grandmother from cancer and has seen her through the chemo - Amen!

JEHOVAH-SHALOM - Judges 6:24 Meaning "The Lord is peace"
For He has blessed my soul and the home I live in with clarity of mind and peace!

DELIVERER - Romans 11:26
For He has Delivered me from myself and from my emotional and food addictions!

FOUNDATION and EVERLASTING FATHER - 1 Cor. 3:11 & Isaiah 9:6
Because He Is!

Tomorrow I will turn in my two week notice to the child care.
I have prayed about it and feel the peace and release from God that this is the time, Amen.
I feel good, not really nervous, happy on an even tone not overly excited - this is a good thing :) thank you Lord.

I will be picking up hours at the massage place and putting out adds for freelance appointments. Here is where the above thankfulness started, as I was thinking about all this I realized that though I had thanked God personally for each event that I needed to testify to those that had helped me through the rough times to what God has done. That God is the restorer of my soul And my things lol, the provider of all. God has restored all that was lost or thought to be near ruin over the last year:
Health of my parents, Car, Whips, Massage Table, Finances, New friendships to replaces former ones and now employment in a place that I enjoy wholly and the freeing from a place that though it was a ram in the bush, for which I am thankfully, will soon be an experience of my past - thank you Lord!

I did 4 burpies!!!! - well - modified burpies :).
-Stand (vs jumping up high with empty hands)
-Lift heavy bar over head
-Drop down and do a push up
-Repeat
I am kind of happy with myself for doing them - not proud but a little happy that I tried.
Normally Josh calls "Burpies" and I just drop and do more push ups and sit ups lol.
So maybe Wed I will do 6 burpies - maybe lol. I have not gotten to the spider push ups yet, that is still just beyond me lol - but I will get there :).

In other news I am happy because I have gotten enough knowledge in my head to do the Cacoy set of 12 and the Doce Pares Eskrima set of 12 strikes without any help! I can practice it on my own now *YEAAAHHH* so I get to class and what set does Joel call out? HUmmmmmmMMMMM what set??? ZACH'S! Gees can't win for loosing with him lol - ah well. The good news is that now I'm pretty good with Zach's after having Jole show me a few more times, after Wed I should have it down if we do it again :) yea - progress :).

This is why I proof read!

After work I park my car to go into the store.

As I turn to cross the street a car pulls up to the light in front of me.

A little old man is in the passenger side and for a moment looks directly at me.

**Being a normal person I give a slight nod/smile but do not maintain eye contact with a random stranger.**

He looks at me then L O O K S at me nice and slow from the toes up.

**I noticed but "ignored" this trying not to roll my eyes - until I glance over again to see...*

The little man raising his fist to his lips and biting down on his knuckle!
*you know that look as if there is something you really want but cant get!!!

Too funny and extreme lol - a compliment in it's own strange right and it made me smile.

I love RENT.

I knew every note before I ever went to see it.

I don't agree with all the points of view which is why though I nearly tried out for it year ago when it first came to town I could not think of a part that I wanted to play ... wonder if they need anyone in costumes....

I have seen RENT every time it has been to this town.

RENT is coming again.

I will not be going to see it.

It will be in the cultural district at a cost of $124.00 to $228.00 per ticket . . . for excellent music and dance ... on an uncomplicated set . . . with a moderate sized cast . . . .

I'd still like to see it again - ah well.

It took a second to realize that no - it was not my phone but that the customer service Phone representative had a stutter.
